as you can see, it’s cinematic.  it’s watchable, not your old school 2 hour snooze-fest that the phrase “traditional wedding videography” conjures up.  we really don’t want to consider it videography as much as it’s a “moving picture” version of that allie and i do with photos.  it’s the reason in motion.  our goal is to create a dynamic video album with a duration of about 10 to 20 minutes long, that’s easy to watch, fun to share, and a great companion to your wedding album.

as we are still looking for a few more portfolio video pieces to add, we are offering a limited time reduced rate.  for the next few couples interested to get a video, it will be an additional $750 added to your package (a la carte $1000).  this video will be somewhere between 10-20 minutes long.  it will be delivered as a digital file and a dvd.  even though the trailer doesn’t contain it, some audio clips will be edited in, for example some of the vows etc.  if you have any more questions, simply call or email us.  thanks again for all your interest, we love you.

so, we learned a few things from this contest.

one: there are some amazing people out there who deserve to have their life documented.

two: we love our facebook fans.

three: we underestimated how many people out there would vote!

728 comments came in to vote for the 3 amazing finalists in our facebook contest! because we’re a little new at contests – and didn’t have a clue that we’d get this many votes – there was a little confusion as to how to tally all of them. it was ridiculously close. so, we’re awarding two sessions under different categories:

the most votes from different email addresses goes to…. #1!!

the most votes from different ip addresses goes to…….. #3!!

yay! and just because #2 was awesome as well, we’re giving them a mini-session in atlanta.

“i would like to win a session for my borther and his family. my brother’s wedding was supposed to happen back in 2002, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they had to cancel it the morning of their wedding. my brother and sister-in-law eventually got married later on that year in an impromptu, smaller wedding. as a result, they never had any wedding pictures, videos, or anything of the sort to document their special day. although they’re now blessed with a 6 year old, 3 year old, and a newborn, they’ve endured a lot of hardships so far in their 8 year marriage. they’ve done a lot for me in the past, so this would be my way of giving something back to them. my idea for a photoshoot would be to have some romantic pics taken of the two of them – maybe in a park – and then have a shoot with their entire family at chuckie cheese. my nephews and niece are super adorable – you know you want to do a session with them! :)”

“hey y’all!!!! i want to win!!! well… actually, i would like our band to win!! where to begin… on an early, sunday morning, a young girl was walking through the booths of a bridal show thinking about what her perfect wedding day would be like. now this girls was not like any other excited bride shopping for the traditional look, oh no!! she wanted something more… something special and different. she wanted the best photographers in the world!! she knew they were out there somewhere, but it seemed like everywhere she turned was chaos and mayhem! ugly photography everywhere!!! oh the pain it caused her to see such ordinary pictures. her heart was broken. :( then suddenly, as she began to leave, her eyes came across a crazy loud blonde headed man with a camera. all of the sudden she felt an overwhelming sense that she must go to the blonde man for he would have the answers! as she approached, it was like a ray of sun shone down from the heavens over the blonde mans’ booth.! was this it? was this the photography that her heart so longed for? suddenly, as she stepped up to the booth, the blonde man approached her and said, “hi, i’m chris, and this is my wife allie.” it was then that the girl knew she was saved! she had found her life long photographers and would be with them til death do them part. now the girl has gotten older and had joined a band. once again she seeks the power of her photographers. she has a long journey ahead. yes, it will be hard. and yes, it will be long. but she knews that what ever pictures she might need in her life, that the reason will always keep her on the right path. so i ask you with a heavy heart… please make my band look good!!!!”

i have always enjoyed browsing your website and peeking into the lives of all the people wearing such cute shoes. :) my favorite aspect of your work is how you seem to capture genuine emotions. it makes it enjoyable to look at, even when i don’t know the people. i’m oping to one day invest in photos of our own. my stay-at-home-mom status puts a damper on that for now, but one day. ten years ago this july i met my husband while doing summer mission work in central america. it rains a lot in the jungle, and every night we talked while watching the thunderstorms roll in. sometimes it rained so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk, so we just sat and listened. one day i noticd him soaking wet playing with a group of kids in the pouring rain. it was the kind of rain if you’re from alabama would be labelled a gully washer. :) i was the fuddy-dud trying to stay dry while he splashed and played. the kids loved it, and eventually i joined in and loved it too. it was in some of those little moments that we fell in love. two years later at our wedding, adam sang me a song he wrote about how he found himself in “the dance in the rain.” fast forward ten years later and we’re “dancing in the rain” with our own kids. i still find myself trying to stay dry and sometimes miss some of the little moments. i would love a photo shoot to remind me of how fun the little moments are. also, to show how our lives in ten years have come full circle. a photo shoot dancing in the rain would be a treasure! of course, there would have to be cute shoes or bright rain boots and bare feet with our pants rolled up jumping in puddles. congratulations on 1000 fans!

this series is proof that dutch candy is gross. chris stops at this dutch store in helen every time we visit to stock up on his favorite candy. his version of candy? hard caramel with a spicy, salty licorice center. we dared jonathan to eat it and this was the reaction. we’ve never laughed so hard!

damien produces the 11 o’clock news at channel 2 in atlanta. jennifer is a doctor in the navy.

on march 13th they became husband + wife. they spent two days in charleston on their honeymoon, and then jennifer had to make a flight back to guam.

they knew they wouldn’t see each other for a few months after they became husband + wife, but the wedding was one of the happiest we have ever been to!

a few hours ago jennifer told us the navy had decided to deploy her to iraq for 7 months – an even longer wait for her and damien. we were truly honored to shoot this wedding and blessed by her service to this country.

introducing something new for the reason!

we rented a nikon d3s for laura + michael’s wedding at the w hotel in midtown to experiment with video. we absolutely love the outcome of mixing the stills with the video to tell the story of their wedding day.

we’d love your feedback since we’re thinking about offering this. we’re by no means experts yet, but it was super fun to play with!
